Aloo Phulkopi-r chorchari

Got hitched on 13th March 2013 (i.e 13-3-13)...its a East-West Connection, difficult though but not impossible cos exploring everyday new thing..its a kind of adventure in real life,,our love story started over internet one of the social site, i was daughter,sister before marriage got many new names after marriage i m now daughter-in law, wife,and many more,,,,with this got more responsibilities, new culture, new tradition.

ever heard my mom saying "Way to husband's heart is through his tummy". I m from Maharashtra and my hubby in West Bengal, he is foodie but unfortunately he is not the great fan of Maharashtrian food, i cook in my style so every time i cook there is some flavor's of Maharashtra in it. now im learning to cook bong food my MIL is ma tutor,learning new everyday. i wanted to keep a track of what i learn so thought of writing this Blog (i m not good at writing)

well, to start with winter vegetable Cauliflower, Aloo Phulkopir Chorchari this is often had with Paranthas or Rotis for Breakfast

Aloo Phulkopi-r chorchari

Ingredients

  • 3 – 4  potatoes cut into small cubes
  • 2 cups small florets of cauliflower
  • 2-3 green chilies
  • 1tsp. Panch Phoran
  • 1tsp. turmeric powder
  • 3 – 4tbsp. mustard oil
  • Salt to taste

Heat oil in a kadhai fry potato till half cook and keep aside, in the same pan temper it with panch phoran. Let them sizzle before you add cauliflower florets to it. Sauté for a minute or two till you smell the fragrance of cauliflower. Sprinkle salt and turmeric powder, Now add the potato.
Mix everything well and cook on medium heat for 2- 3 minutes. Add half cup water and cook it covered on low heat till the vegetables are done. You may increase the heat now to dry the excess moisture.
Serve with  parath/ Roti or can be served with rice and dal.
